  1. Thank you madam for sharing the valuable material with us. In the paper the process of assessment in different countries nicely explained. It was really exciting to know how in developed countries in the field of education are practicing assessment to ensure learning. We are mostly aware of the process of assessment follwed in different countries theoretically but practically we are now also doing it in traditional way and our focus is on score and rank. Performance based assessment, open ended questions, student oriented assessment, criterion referenced assessment we need to practice. After 2017 NAS we are planning but it should not be again to show up. We need to focus on 21st century skill not in pen and paper but in classroom process. For this teacher should prepare them selves to teach the students of 21st century.

  3. Thank you madam for this peace of information regarding Assessment for learning. The national standard emphasize that the main purpose of assessing students is to guide and encourage students' own reflection and Self assessment. We must examine how each topics are tought and assessed.so that we understand how other countries' educatational systems shape what student actually learn and can do.
European and Asian nations focused explicitly on creating curriculum guidance and assessments that focus on the so-called 21st century skills :- the ability to find and organise information to slove problems, apply learning to new situations, Self monitor and improve one's own learning and performance, work in Team and learn independently.

    Thank you

  4. Thank you Respected Lipimadam for sharing "Assessment for learning around the world " by Linda Darling, Hammond and Laura Mccloskey .The primary purpose of Assessment for learning is to improve students learning and teacher's teaching as both respond to the information it provides. AFL is an on going process that arises out of the interaction between teaching and learning. The design and use of standards, curriculum and assessments in high achieving nations around the world is significantly different from the way tests are designed and used in the United states. Most testing in the US Emphasizes externally developed, machine scored instruments that enter and leave the school in secret, offering little opportunity for teacher engagement with the evaluation of standards and little opportunity for students production of analyses, solutions or ideas. Now a day's both the teachers and students come to understand the standards deeply and they work continuously on activities and projects that develop skills and they are applied in the reàl world as well as on classrooms, examinations. Some assessments tools are concept maps, concept test knowledge surveys, Examinations, oral presentation, poster presentation, peer review, portfolio, Rubrics, written reports..etc. .Really Assessment for learning takes an important role in teaching learning process. Thanks.

  5. This is a very good article to know the methods of assessment for learning around the world.Learning methods varies nation to nation but one common is that by using such assessments has improved teaching quality and increased student achievement especially on tasks that require complex reasoning and problem solving. Assessment in different nations are linked to curriculum and integrated into the instructional process to shape and improve learning for students n teachers. The main purpose of assessing students is to guide and encourage students own reflection and self assessment. Many States in America have developed and used state and local performance assessment as part of their testing systems. But only in Australia only national assessment is a periodic, matrix sample based assessment.Classroom tasks ensure that students have the kind of learning opportunities that prepare them for assessments that they are getting feedback to improve and that they will be prepared to succeed. Some abbreviations terms are also there which needs to be clarified like VCAA, NCLB etc. in our PLC meeting. We should know the different assessment procedures of different nations so that we can also implement that in our classroom situation for better performance if suitable for our students.

  6. Thank you so much madam for sharing this valuable material . As this material consists of the assessment system in different countries around the world. As we know that students perform or score lowest on problem solving items.Hence Higher achieving countries teach fewer topics more deeply so that students have a clear idea about the content matter & also they can apply it in their daily life.In my point of view assessment is the key component of learning process .Learning should focus on creating curriculum in which students learn to improve work in different situations as well as communicate their knowledge in different problematic situations .Like swedan & Finland our country's assessment system should focus on open ended items for for the assessment of students in schools t. Because this type of items gives scope for analyse, apply & to create new ideas.similarly project based, inquiry based items should include in the assessment. . If local schools given more autonomy to decide what & how to teach in a highly centralized system and accountability fixed on teachers then students achievement can easily be measured. performance based assessment is also helpful for students achievement.Students as well as teachers must aware of national level & international level assessments( PISA).Every Teacher should create that type platform , where students can assessed in a positive manner. We donot have to follow other countries assessment system , rather we have to change our assessment system in such a way that learning of the students can be confirmed.

  7. Thank you madam for sharing this article which States about the Assessment process around the world. As the Assessment process is linked with both the teacher and students. It is highly based on the process used by the teacher in teaching learning process and the product of students. It's viewed that US students scored lowest in problem solving items and the higher achiving countries teach fewer topics more deeply each year focus more onreasoning skills and application of knowledge rather than mere coverage. In US tests rely primarily on multiple choice items that evaluates recall and recognition of discretefacts. The design and use of standards, curricula and assessment in high achieving nations around the world are significantly different from the way tests are designed and used in US.
