During this session, in FC4 paper student teachers have created personal e portfolio where they have posted case studies and their experiences on different aspects of classroom process. We, as teacher educators have also vast experience both in school education and teacher education. As a part of innovation, each of us will create an electronic portfolio, where our reflective experiences, case studies, research outcomes, articles may be uploaded. Academic e portfolio
E-Portfolios are effective learning tools as they support students' own knowledge construction . It fall within a learning theory known as social constructivism, which proposes , in part , that learning happens most effectively when students construct systems of knowledge for themselves, rather than simply having information presented .Making and then sharing an eportfolio with others is somewhat like telling a story : the story of one's learning journey .EPortfolos will be successful in group or at the individual course level . This helps learners to develope new or deeper learning which results in higher grades . DIET Khordha student teachers have done it successfully .

Blogger is such a platform created by you for us where l am getting chance to read such type of material. I am getting little bit clear ideas about Academic e-portfolio from this material. There is a considerable degree of practical application involved in e-portfolio. Every Academic teacher educators should use this tool for providing some type of scaffolding to guide students in using them. But my question is that is there any place all for using e-portfolio in the current Educational environment?
ReplyDeleteE-portfolio are far more commonly used in assessing formal learning. But is there any provision focuses on assessment through e-portfolio for informal learning?
It is found that e-portfolios are an effective way for teachers and students to show their skills in a very prospective way. Madam can we have a discussion on how we can use e-portfolio as an assessment tool for in-service teachers?

Thank you Sikha for your constructive feedback. Our student teachers have developed digital portfolios and posted their own creations. It's platform where digitally we can store, share our own creations. Certainly, we will discuss the practical aspect of portfolios.
Deletee-portfolio is a platform to publish the creativity of a student both in curricular as well as co curricular aspects. This e-portfolio can also be essential for a teacher to give their thoughts, ideas etc. and it can be evaluated by others. It is also a part of digitalization of education which should be integrated with the curriculum. It can be done both offline as well as online mode. This e-portfolio can be created by the person himself or herself not by others. It is a new innovative assessment tool for formal learning. It is a new concept for me not practised before and very helpful for everyone to flourish our inner potentialities.

ReplyDeleteE portfolio is not just to keep documents rather it represents the process of generating new ideas. It fosters creativity of the students. The interesting ppart of this article is that e portfolio falls with in social constrructvism. While documenting the ideas students will construct knowledge and by sharing it in social field will get feedback which will help in improvment.

E-portfolio is a proof or evidence of our work, creations and many more.It can be used by any body[ students, teachers,parents....] It also helps in communicating other social medias. It helps the students to to produce their own way of presenting their creativity, so that their pace of learning may increase day by day.E-portfolio provide an excellent frame work for constructivist methodology .In the material the part "invisible learning visible" is not clearly understood by me. t think it need to be more clarified if some examples given based on classroom situations.One more thing -How e-portfolio are most effective when they are established as an institution may be discussed in PLC. As e-portfolio demands significant amount of time and energy so students should be given more time to reflect their own creation to change or modify. the creations may be in the form of story, assignment, poem etc. We have to give +ve feedback to students for their e-portfolio and also to assess their talents.
